Call for Abstracts for 2 Minute Thesis Competition: 16 June
Use the abstract template, and submit here before 16 June.
Note: deadline for regular abstract submissions closed on 1 April 2017. Authors of previously submitted poster abstracts do not have to resubmit. This call is for the 2 minute thesis competition only.
Your initial abstract submission should present a concise and well-formulated summary of your proposed presentation.
FULL PAPER SUBMISSION: If your submission is accepted for a full oral presentation, you are required to submit a full paper of between six and eight A4 pages before 15 August 2017. Your final full paper must be in plain English and clearly define the objectives, status, methodology, findings and significance of your investigation or study.
JOURNAL PUBLICATION: The final paper will be reviewed for publication in the following journals: Water Science and Technology; Water Science and Technology: Water Supply; and Water, Practice and Technology.
As a practitioner you can submit case studies focusing on the importance of interventions of YWPs to solve (technical) issues and the results/lessons learned.
Examples can include case studies on operations and maintenance of water supply systems and/or sewer systems, water losses, asset management, water biology and chemistry, financial management, project managements, environmental problems, and public-private partnerships.
Your abstract must be in plain English and clearly define the background and rationale of the intervention, the intervention itself, the results, and the lessons learned.

Abstract Submission Limit
You may submit as many abstracts as you wish. However, no individual will be allowed to present more than one paper and one poster. Additional papers must be presented by one of the co-authors.
Presentation Format: Poster Only
The re-opening of abstracts is just for the 2-Minute-Thesis (1 slide) presentation to introduce your work.
Final Poster/Presentation Selection
Your submitted abstract will be peer reviewed by international experts and experienced young water professionals. Programme selections are based on the scores and comments of these reviewers.
